Our food

Food for young children has become a highly topical issue in recent years. Often the extra care parents take in this area when their children are at home is nullified by the use of poor convenience foods offered at many schools and nurseries.

At Westchester House the food supply chain is based around a policy widely accepted as being optimum by child nutritionists in the UK but, sadly, rarely adopted. Under this policy, every attempt is made to ensure 35% of food is organic, 35% is produced within close proximately of our nursery and the remainder - often dried foods and other similar provisions - is obtained in the usual way from trade suppliers. This ensures not only quality but also freshness.

Riverford are the suppliers of organic fruit and vegetables to Westchester House. Click below to visit their website.
